President Ram Nath Kovind has held that Mahatma Gandhi’s teaching is the principle managerial of our republic & furthered that it was an instance to recall the losses of the freedom fighters. President Kovind similarly commended the countrymen on occasion through his speech on the eve of 74th Independence Day.
“The day is for our youth to feel the pride associated with India’s independence,” held Kovind.
The president correspondingly held that the country was in debt to corona fighters who have risked & even given their lives to guard others. He further added that India’s fight counter to the pandemic was an instance for the world.
“By extending a helping hand towards other countries fight coronavirus has illustrated that India is always ready to help others,” President Ram Nath Kovind held, totaling that the entire world was identifying the Indian value of seeing the world as one family.
President’s speech on the eve of the 74th Independence Day arises in a year manifested by the coronavirus outbreak & its effect on the economy & other spheres of life. Even the I-Day on Saturday will be distinguished under restrictions placed on the number of visitors at the iconic Red Fort & observation of distinct safety protocols during the shortened program to keep the highly contagious disease at bay. Before the coronavirus enthralled India after the detection of the first case in Kerala on January 30, the country observed deadly riots in Delhi in late February over the Citizens Amendment Act leading to 53 deaths.
Further, in May, tensions spiked with China over its military’s misbehaviors along the uncertain Line of Actual Control (LAC) with India which peaked on June 15 when crashes amid personnel of the 2-armed forces led to deaths of 20 Indian soldiers together with a Colonel ranked officer and an unknown number of Chinese soldiers. Prior this month, the foundation stone placing ceremony for a grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya was held. President Kovind was chosen in the year 2017 & this was his fourth address to the country on the eve of Independence Day. The invitees have been demanded to wear masks. In addition to this, an adequate number of suitable masks have been kept handy for distribution at various points of venue. Correspondingly, hand sanitizers will be made accessible at pre-defined locations. Display boards are placed inconspicuously to attract the attention of invitees. Thermal screening of visitors at all entry points has been planned, while medical booths have been set up at many locations across the venue.
